Interview with a Nissan Executive Who Knew Mr. Ghosn

One of the executives who was near Ghosn, has accepted to do an interview with NHK, but the person has chosen to remain anonymous.
He remembers Monsieur Ghosn when they met for the first time.
He said, the new boss was emitting energy, even from his face.
The staff felt that he was the right man to bring about changes to the company.
It went swimmingly well in the beginning, so much so that it created a positive atmosphere where everyone believed in his abilities.
The spotlight was on him and he was viewed as the great reformer.
And little by little, too much power was concentrated on him.
Another member who left Nissan talks about the discontent among some engineers.
In the latter part of Ghosn's rein, people from Renault began to disagree with Nissan's way of operation.
But according to the interviewee, Renault is not technically superior to Nissan.
In general, it is unacceptable for a specialist in any field to listen to someone who does not understand the said field.
Often, in this kind of situation, the competent workers are the first to leave the company.
Renault has 43% of shares in Nissan and the latter holds 15% of shares in the French company.
Nissan sold about 5,820,000 vehicles in 2017 and Renault sold about 3,760,000, in the same year.
